Everything started on November 2, 2016 after reading the message below:

THE POWER OF PERSPECTIVE...

Often when I'm angry, sad, or frustrated I look to the situation or the person that is causing the emotion. I immediately want to look outward to determine whose fault it is or to prove that life is unfair. I've lived the majority of my life this way and it's a default way of being for me. Through my yoga practice and my yoga training... I've learned to look inward. It's a shift in perspective and an awareness of my contribution to the emotions or the situation. When I practice looking inward, the emotion is often diffused and I can save myself (and others) from my wrath... Lately, I've been doing a lot of soul searching especially when I'm feeling squeezed with responsibilities, time lines, and meeting the needs of my family. The more I practice looking within at those moments, the better I get at NOT reacting to external triggers. I can take a deep breath, quickly consider the situation and my contribution to the situation, and I often get more clear on what I WANT my contribution to be vs. letting my contribution be my reaction. This awareness creates a shift in perspective, and opens me up to work through situations with a compassionate point of view vs. a blaming point of view (which typically makes things worse). With an open perspective and an open heart I've cleaned up a lot of my most meaningful relationships; my mom, my dad, my husband, and my daughter. What could be possible for you and the most meaningful relationships in your life if you owned your contribution to the relationship (good and bad)? Are you willing to look within before you respond? Know that this is an ongoing practice. Somedays I'm good and other's I'm not my best... on those days I ask for forgiveness and I move forward with the commitment to breathe, look within and response compassionately. I invite you to take on this practice on and off your mat. See what happens.

To the power of perspective,
